Nose: High intensity with aromas reminiscent of
licorice and dried fruit (plums and apricots) on a
sweet blackberry background with a subtle balsamic note.
Palate: Silky and pleasant on the attack. With
balanced acidity, polished tannins, a powerful body, and a
fleshy, warm mouthfeel. Long,
persistent, and unctuous finish reminiscent of dried fruit and
spices (dried apricots and cocoa).
Pairing suggestions: Red and white meats,
stews, Galician stew, grilled meats, small game,
oily fish, well-seasoned rice and pasta dishes,
and aged and semi-aged cheeses.
